Leuven is situated in the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium, at about 20 Km east of Brussels. With a total population of about 90.000 inhabitants it could have been a inauspicious little provincial town.

The Chinese Students and Scholars Association Of Leuven is a non-profit student organization dedicated to the goal of promoting social, intellectual and cultural activities for Chinese students and scholars in Leuven. It will also strive to provide opportunities and benefits by facilitating the life and study in Belgium.

Hainan Airline is the only airline company that has direct flights from China to Belgium and the frequency is 3 to 4 time per week (http://global.hnair.com/).

To make our movie more authentic, comprehensive and narrative, and to reproduce our multi-level and multi-lateral study lives from a panoramic angle, we have decided, after many discussions with professionals and relating institutions, to transform our narrative movie to a documentary.

The leuven’s Spring Festival Gala has long time been one of the ‘big hits’ of CSAL. During recent years, with audience anticipation running to almost 700 persons, it becomes one of the biggest activities within the Chinese community in Leuven. This big pageant offers a domain on which we Chinese students and scholars celebrate the Lunar New Year with our compatriots on the other end of this continent.
